My Equipment

Mostly for other photographers – as I doubt the list below will mean much to anyone else:)

I am a Canon shooter. When I got into photography, Canon just released D30 – which was a truly groundbreaking camera as it was the first Digital SLR that was actually affordable. And once you get a few lenses you become committed to whatever brand you invest in. I do love canon L primes – nothing has quite the same look as those..

Camera Bodies:
Canon 1D Mark III – Fast autofocus, excellent tracking, wonderful ergonomics.
Canon 5D Mark II – Amazing image quality and low-light performance
Canon 7D – Almost as nice performance as 1D but in a smaller/lighter package

Lenses:
Canon 24 f/1.4 IIL – IMHO the best wide angle Canon makes (disclaimer – I have never used 24 TSE)

Canon 50 f/1.2L – Love that lens … Could probably photograph whole wedding with this one lens:)– if I absolutely had to:)
Canon 50 f/1.4 – Small and light – excellent above f/2.0
Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS IIL – Heavy, large and white, but I don’t think there is a better zoom on the market.

Canon 24-70 f/2.8 – Still surprised how close it is to the best prime lenses in color and sharpness – if you could only get a bokeh of a 1.2 lens – would be a perfect lens:)
Canon 85 f/1.2L – A slow focusing, huge, heavy lens that I absolutely LOVE
Canon 90 TS/E – Must have for product photography & one of the sharpest lenses canon makes

Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS – best zoom for canon “crop” bodies
Tamron 90 2.8 Macro – Excellent macro lens – light and sharp

Dedicated Flashes:
Canon 580 EXII & 430 EXII
Pocket Wizards TT1/TT5

Studio Flashes:
Elinchrom Ranger Quadra RX – amazingly versatile
Elinchrom Style 600
Elinchrom skyport triggers

Variety of light modifiers – current favorite: Elinchrom Deep Octa.

My Wish list:)
Canon 24 f/3.5 TSE
Canon 45 f/2.8 TSE
