Our second wedding of 2013!!
Liza and Chris started the year with a bang by getting married at a beautiful and unique venue – Saltwater Farm Vineyard.
It was a day of elegance, beauty, tears and laughter – exactly the way the wedding should be in my opinion
Let the 2013 Wedding Season begin … Tomorrow.
But before it does – I am going to rewind and take a look at all the fun moments I was lucky enough to capture in 2012. I have said it before and I will say it again – THANK YOU to all of my wonderful brides and grooms and their families! It was such an honor to take part in your special day and to be privileged enough to capture your love, excitement, happiness and celebration. How many people can say that what they do for a living is take your most important moments in life, moments that can never be repeated and document them … forever !!! Oh… and have a blast while doing so

It is hard to believe that 2012 is over … and a NEW YEAR has begun. 2013 is already looking very exciting – I am meeting wonderful new couples, photographing more and more studio sessions, expanding my photography business to include more and more non-wedding work, which in turn will keep me more creative and benefit my wedding clients! But before we look forward, I feel it is important to look back and express my gratitude for all the incredible people we met last year !!! It is still hard to believe that just a short 3 years ago, I was still sitting in a corporate cubicle and now … I get to do what I love for a living and have so much fun in the process.
One of my favorite moments in the entire process of the wedding experience is the engagement session. Not only does the session give each couple an opportunity for casual, intimate shots together but this time also allows us to get to know each other and to connect, which I feel is so important. Knowing each couple enables me to capture their love on the big day in a way that is unique to them. No wedding is ever the same, but I have always felt strongly about documenting the individuality of each one! But I am getting ahead of myself … The 2012 Wedding Recap is coming later in the week …
It was so fun going back and seeing all of these wonderful faces again. THANK YOU to each and every one of you for such an incredible year!

Our last wedding of 2012!
Aric and Joy were married in the beautiful and unique Alger House. This was one of our favorite small venues so far with eclectic decor, good light and food that a five star restaurant would approve of … It was great to see a mixture of Aric’s Jewish and Joy’s Chinese traditions being incorporated into their day with such care and ease. It was truly as if a bunch of friends and family got together in a beautiful home to celebrate these two wonderful people – and Joy and Aric wanted it just that way – a wedding that was moving, intimate and surrounded by those they love!
It was obvious that for Aric & Joy, having their families there meant the world! Joy’s parents live in California, while Aric’s parents arrived all the way from Morocco. They all had such different ways of showing their immense emotion and it was so special to see and capture it…. Joy’s dad had a huge, proud smile on him all day, as he watched his little girl getting married. It was so amazing

Natalia and I loved Joy’s dress! The shape and the detail complimented Joy perfectly!! And the most fantastic part – Aric picked it for her!!

It’s not unusual for us to end-up friends with the couples whose weddings we photograph – in this case, these guys and I became friends before we even had the engagement shoot. I am extremely grateful to Ryan and LaMont introducing me to Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem !!! Best ribs in town…
We started off with Ryan feeding us all a delicious lunch– thats what I call a good start for a photo-shoot! After lunch we spend a little time with Morris who is a dog after my own heart – goofy, friendly and big. Then we headed to Fort Tryon for some outside shots and we finished the day in Brooklyn, as you will see later in the post…
I have climbed trees ones or twice when doing engagement shoots but this is the first time when the couple volunteered to climb themselvesConsidering how color coordinated they ended up being with the scene I would have suspected it was a plan from the beginning if I was not the one who dragged them there…
After the park we stopped by my studio for a few indoor shots. I am really enjoying the flexibility of finally having a studio and being able to offer such variety to my couples!!
Ryan + LaMont – I am so very much looking forward to your wedding in August. Judging from everything you have told me so far, it’s going to be quite a wonderful event and super, super fun!!! Now…. we just need to make sure you finally get to meet Natalia as well. Hope you like the photos and see you soon, I am sure ;) … I am bound to have a ribs craving in the near future!
