So I figured it is time for me to make this blog a little more personal and start sharing more about the people, ideas and even objects that are important in my life, that make my life wonderful, challenging and fun.
And now to the “luckiest guy” part
If someone told me slightly over 3 years ago that a year later I would be married – I would have had a hysterical fit of laughter.
Then around New Years of 2007 I met Natalia
– It took me about 6 weeks to propose and it took her about 14 hours to accept
Her first reaction was: ” Ummm …. – this is not a no… but can I have a little time??? This is very sudden!!!!!”
She called me the next afternoon – at the office – and told me she would like to change the answer to YES !!!!
Eight months later, thanks to our amazing friends, who helped us with every aspect of planning and execution, we were married! Our wedding took place on September 20th, 2008, at a beautiful Vermont home of close friends of ours. The weather was perfect. The leaves that just started turning, painted the surrounding mountains in the multitude of tasty colors (and yes tasty is the best word that describes it to me
). I have always believed that marriage was about commitment of two people that are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together – and not something that requires an “official” ceremony, so it was strange to realize that I, the guy who was never concerned about the actual ceremony and ritual of the wedding, truly treasure the memories of our wedding, because at the end it really was one of the most special days in my life.
So here is Natalia, my gorgeous, gorgeous wife whom I absolutely adore….
Natalia and Troy – whom she learned to love despite his drooly properties
Special look – reserved for me… when I get too goofy
[she probably will kill me when she sees the photo below]
Katya Sonina - ~ to Alex ~
I must say that working with Alex was an absolute joy!
All he asked me was – to smile .. and then, he did his magic – pure magic of talent, vision, imagination & inspiration, yet making it so very simple and real.
Thank you – for looking at me, and seeing me not only from the outside, but most importantly – for capturing my very spirit in such a beautiful, honest way.
I trust that you are a true master of your craft. So best of luck!!, and I am happy to be a part of this wonderful artistic journey of yours!
With all my love,
Katya
P.S. and may I add, that there is not a single photograph I don’t like, which usually happens… – never..?
