Very excited that Jay’s and Paul’s wedding was picked to be featured in the april issue of the EquallyWed online magazine![]()
I think one of the biggest challenges that every photographer faces is staying creative and flexible. It is especially true when you are fairly specialized. So when at some point last autumn I was doing a yoga shoot and suddenly realized that every time I tried to pose the girls I instinctually tried to pose them as a couple – I knew that it is definitely time to start photographing things unrelated with weddings and couples

Greg is an accomplished athlete and an owner of the International Training Center of NY. I have known Greg for a few years and decided to ask if he would be willing to work with me on some dynamic shots. I was delighted when he not just agreed but volunteered a few of the guys that regularly train with him
Greg comes from a judo background but his school trains students in several disciplines including MMA, Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu.
The shoot was an interesting and exciting challenge as this was the first time I photographed any martial arts. I am so grateful for the guys being willing to spend a good part of their evening throwing each other around and trying to do it in a “photogenic” manner![]()
So here is a small selection of some of my favorites – both from the dynamic shots and from a quick portrait session we did at the end.
I would highly apreciate any comments especially if you are involved with martial arts and/or photography of a competitive sports.
Here is Greg and his son Danny.
And here is what happens when Danny does not listen to his father![]()

A few shots from a recent shoot for Nicole’s new website – www.yogaforthearts.com
Nicole is a classical flutist, and as most very dedicated professional musicians will tell you, the many hours of practice takes a toll on a body. In Nicole’s case, she developed scoliosis, and through yoga, was able to realign her spine and strengthen her back muscles. As Nicole mentioned herself on her site, now, her goal is “to empower artists to fully inhabit their bodies so they can live healthier, happier and more productive musical lives.”
It was great working with Nicole, not only because she is extremely passionate about what she does, and is a wonderful yoga instructor with an obvious knowledge and skill, but she is also one of those rare people with a genuinely sweet and sunny disposition that makes you like her, the instance you meet her

Here are a few favorites from a recent photo shoot with Sean. When Sean contacted me about this shoot he and I discussed that his agent was looking for more specific “character” shots and not just standard headshots. Some of the upcoming roles that Sean was about to audition for, included a few “Bad Guys,” so we needed to take a few Bad-Ass Looking photos, along with a few shots of the opposite, more fatherly approach for variety. And – of course, me being me – I also HAD to throw in a few “funny faces”

Last two shots must be submitted to Dexter

Whew…. 2012 started with a huge “to-do” list that put our “Favorites of 2011″ project to a screeching halt. But as they say – better late then never! It was so fun to go back and re-live all the fun Natalia and I had photographing our incredible clients and remembering all the wonderful weddings that we were privileged enough to be a part of. We are extremely grateful to have made so many new friends and want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you! Thank you for finding us, hiring us, and then continuing to stay in our lives. Also, thank you for continuing to look at our work, for sharing it with your friends and family and for continuously recommending us. We have been extremely lucky to have doubled the number of weddings we photographed in our second year in business and this year we hope to not only capture at least the same number of weddings, but also to expand into doing more portrait work! So, those of you who have a creative project you have been itching to do – we can’t wait to hear about it
…
Stay Tuned for a special contest that we will be holding in a few days for all of our 2011 Clients, as a way to say thanks (and just in time for Valentine’s Day
). But for now… on to some of our Favorites from 2011 – Every one of our clients has been an integral part of our growth as artists last year and we cannot wait to continue developing and learning in 2012!!!

WOW!! What a stunning collection of your work. We are so glad we found you and chose you for our wedding photographer. I only wish we lived on the same continent so we could have a maternity shoot
